As part of the celebrations for the Bicentenary of Camilo Castelo Branco's birth, Casa de Camilo invited Professor Cristina Sobral to give a lecture at the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation entitled “Getting to know Camilo through his manuscripts”.
Abstract: Since 2007, the study of Camilo Castelo Branco's autograph manuscripts has allowed us to “enter” the writer's mind, dispelling the myth that he wrote under inspiration, with almost nothing or very little to amend. In this conference, we will follow how knowledge about his writing process has evolved and show some interesting aspects of the construction of his novels, documented in the manuscripts.
Speaker: Cristina Sobral
