Ribeira de Pena City Hall
It oversees the museum named “Casa de Camilo de Friúme”, located in the village of Friúme, where the writer lived with his first wife, Joaquina Pereira de França.
The building, which is part of the Ribeira de Pena ecomuseum, presents the visitor with a permanent exhibition in the rooms once occupied by the young couple. But it also hosts temporary exhibitions and allows events to be held, with the objective of promoting Portuguese literature.
The “Casa de Camilo de Friúme” plays a role of relevant interest in connecting itself with other places in Trás-os-Montes where Camilo, in his youth, frequently paid visit to. Especially because certain works, such as Maria Moisés or O Lobisomem, are a living mirror of his experiences there.
